White Dry wine exhibits fruitiness and soft aftertaste.  Blend of Goruli Mtsvane and Chinuri grape varieties from the Gori region in central Georgia.  Delicious with salads, fish, poultry or pasta.  Easy drinking by itself, light and refreshing.  This is one of our "gateway wines" for US wine lovers, not too far from familiarity, yet an introduction to a whole new range of delightful white and amber(orange) wines from Georgia.  It is a lively, refreshing, slightly tart white that goes well in warm weather with fruits and cheeses.

About the Winery

Winiveria was established in the Alazani Valley by George Piradashvili in 2014 as part of his Château Mere company. The winery collaborates with local growers and a nearby cooperative to produce a wide range of wines made in both indigenous and classical European styles. Total annual production is 25,000 cases.

Winemaker Notes

Following harvest in late summer, Chinebuli Goruli Mtsvane are crushed and pressed into steel tanks for spontaneous co-fermentation. The wine is aged for six additional months and bottled in the spring.

Chinebuli (also known as Chinuri) is native to Georgia’s central Kartli region, where it is often blended with the native Goruli Mtsvane to make high-acid, refreshing white table wines. Herbal and fresh, tree-fruit flavors are common.

Vineyard Notes

Grapes are sourced from co-planted parcels on the banks of the Mejuda River near Gori in the Shida Kartli region. Vineyards range from 600-800m and consist primarily of deep, dark gray clay soils.
