About the Winery

Kateryna Chiganova, the founder of Mtsvane Estate winery, left her home of
Ukraine over a decade ago and, along with her family, became a part of the
burgeoning Georgian winemaking community. The company takes pride in
producing low intervention and sustainable sparkling wines from different
parts of Georgia. It is a small company with a big goal: To create the
foremost sparkling wines of Georgia.

Winemaker Notes

Whole bunch grapes are pressed in closed presses without destemming. Only
first-run juice is used. Fermentation starts in stainless steel tanks for 7-10
days, then transfers to bottle to ferment and store in cellar. The wine stays on
lees for 7 months before disgorging.

Vineyard Notes

The Mtsvane Estate vineyards are located in the village of Shilda, in the Kvareli district of the Kakheti region in Georgia. The vineyards are at an elevation of 400M. Soil content is a mix of alluvial, clay and loam. The soils of the Kvareli region are know for their ideal structure for the native grapes grown there and specific characteristics this terroir expresses in the wines.
